The race is friendly and inclusive, and the website should be too.
This website
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. The site works with a keyboard, with screen readers, at 400% zoom and on small phones. Every image has a text alternative, every form field has a label, and the interactive route map has a written description of the course and a static map alongside it. Video is click-to-play and we caption it where we can.
Some things we know about: the interactive map is not fully navigable by keyboard, which is why the written route and the static map are there; and third-party pages we link to, such as the entry platform and the results, are outside our control.
If anything on the site is hard to use, email hello@riverbankchallenge.co.uk and we will fix it or find you another way to get the information.
The race
The course is flat, on tarmac, riverbank path and village road. Parts of the riverbank path are narrow and grass. Walkers are welcome and there is a generous cut-off. If you use a wheelchair or a guide runner, or have any access need for the race or the event village, email us before the day and we will talk it through: parking near registration, a quieter start, a guide, whatever helps.
